Half the money generated by this game is going straight in to the creators pocket. As soon as the Japan Probe article came out the creator began editing the content of their propaganda site to tone down the lies.
A quotation from the developer’s description of the game (emphasis added):
Waiting to be slaughtered and sold as whale meat on the black market, Dusty manages to escape from the cove. His escape is noticed and Dusty is soon chased by one of the hunters, who’s not planning to let one of his valuable cash-prices escape!
I created this game to raise funds for savejapandolphins.org and teach people around the world about illegal dolphin slaughter: You get a cool game and you support a good cause, talk about a win-win situation!
It’s one thing to spread awareness about an issue. Spreading blatant lies, however, is different. The dolphin hunt in Japan is not illegal. The hunters are not violating Japanese law, nor are they killing endangered species. There is no “black market” for meat sales because selling and consuming the meat does not violate the law.
